Discover the magic of indigo blue! Indigo was vital to world civilizations for thousands of years and was used to color every blue textile in the world until the 20th century. First you’ll learn to make an indigo dye vat using natural materials to produce a quick-acting, reliable, and long-lasting blue. Then we’ll explore different techniques for dyeing yarn.
Class will be held outside under a shade tent (rain or shine), so please dress for the weather and bring lunch. Dye, equipment and two 100g skeins yarn included in materials fee. Students may bring up to 300g additional natural fiber yarn.
Cost: $45.00 per session + $20.00 materials fee.
